Fertility Services at Onto Health
When you understand the “why,” the next step feels clear.
Most people don’t begin this journey knowing exactly which treatment they need.
They begin with questions.
Why isn't this working?
Is it too early to see someone?
What are my options?
Do I need IVF?
At Onto Health, we don’t start with a procedure. We start by understanding your unique fertility story.
When you understand what may be contributing to your fertility challenges or what options are available to you, the next step becomes clearer and more confident.
When Should I See a Fertility Specialist?
This is one of the most common questions people ask.
There is no single perfect timeline, but these guidelines can help.
You may want to schedule a consultation if:
- You are under 35 and have been trying to conceive for 12 months without success
- You are 35 or older and have been trying for 6 months without success
- You are planning to use donor sperm, donor eggs or a gestational carrier
- Your cycles are irregular or absent
- You have experienced one or more miscarriages
- You have PCOS, endometriosis or a thyroid condition
- You are aware of sperm concerns
- You are considering egg freezing
You don't have to wait until something feels urgent.
Some patients come in for reassurance and a baseline. Others come because something feels off. Both reasons are valid.
Sometimes we confirm that everything looks healthy. Sometimes we identify patterns that are easier to address sooner rather than later. Either way, clarity matters.

Initial Visit
Your first visit begins with a thoughtful conversation. Consultations are held virtually, allowing you to connect with our clinicians from wherever is most convenient for you, whether that’s home, work, or anywhere in between.
We review your medical history, lifestyle and family-building goals while getting to know what matters most to you.
We are committed to creating an inclusive clinic experience where every patient feels respected, heard, and supported.
Fertility Testing
Following your consultation, comprehensive diagnostic testing may be recommended for one or both partners, when applicable.
This may include hormone testing, ovarian reserve assessment, pelvic ultrasound, uterine imaging and semen analysis based on your individual history and needs.
Results & Insights
Once your results are available, we schedule dedicated time to review them together.
We are not simply checking boxes. We are looking for patterns. Sometimes the cause is straightforward. Sometimes multiple factors are involved. Understanding these layers allows us to recommend care thoughtfully rather than automatically moving to the next step.
Your Care Plan
Every patient’s care plan is personalized based on their unique health history, fertility factors and family-building goals.
We will outline recommended next steps and walk through the options available to you. Our role is to educate and guide you, but you are always in the driver’s seat. Our goal is for you to feel informed, supported and empowered to make decisions about your care and your future.
Treatment
If treatment is the right next step, our team will guide you through your protocol from start to finish.
Before beginning a cycle, we will meet with you to review the plan, coordinate medications and answer any questions you may have. Throughout treatment, our clinical and patient care teams will monitor your progress closely and will support you at every stage as you move toward your family-building goals.
Treatment Options
Controlled Ovarian Simulation
Controlled ovarian stimulation is a common fertility treatment that helps the ovaries develop eggs (oocytes).
It may be used for:
- PCOS
- Irregular or absent ovulation
- Unexplained infertility
- Age-related fertility decline
There are two main approaches:
- Ovulation induction to release one egg
- Superovulation to release more than one egg
Medications may include:
- Letrozole
- Clomiphene
- Injectable hormones
We will monitor growth with ultrasounds and bloodwork to time ovulation.
Success depends on age and diagnosis. Releasing more eggs can improve pregnancy chances but may increase the risk of twins or multiples.
Egg Freezing
Not everyone who visits Onto Health is ready to conceive now.
Egg freezing allows you to preserve eggs for future family building. Patients choose this option for many reasons, including age-related planning, medical treatment, career timing or simply wanting more flexibility.
We approach egg freezing as a thoughtful discussion about your options and long-term health. It is not about pressure. It is about preserving choice.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
Intrauterine insemination places specially prepared sperm directly into the uterus around ovulation to increase the chance of conception.
It may be recommended when:
- Ovulation needs support
- Sperm parameters are mildly reduced
- No clear cause of infertility has been identified
- Donor sperm is being used
IUI is less invasive than IVF. For some patients, it is the right place to begin. For others, testing suggests a different approach will offer a better chance of success.
If we recommend IUI, it is because your evaluation supports that decision.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
IVF can feel overwhelming until you understand how it works.
In vitro fertilization involves retrieving eggs from the ovaries, fertilizing them in the laboratory and growing embryos before transfer or freezing.
What IVF truly offers is information and greater control. It allows us to observe embryo development directly and use advanced laboratory techniques when appropriate.
IVF Step by Step
Step 1: Fertility Assessment
Comprehensive bloodwork, ultrasound, imaging and semen analysis when applicable help us design your personalized treatment plan.
Step 2: Ovarian Stimulation
Fertility medications encourage your ovaries to produce multiple eggs. We monitor your progress carefully with bloodwork and ultrasounds.
Step 3: Egg Retrieval
A brief outpatient procedure allows us to gently collect mature eggs from the ovaries.
Step 4: Fertilization
Eggs are combined with sperm in the laboratory to create embryos using advanced techniques when needed.
Step 5: Embryo Development
Embryos grow in the laboratory for several days while our embryology team monitors their development closely.
Step 6: Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) – Optional
A few cells may be biopsied from each embryo and analyzed for chromosomal abnormalities. This information can help guide embryo selection prior to transfer.
Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
A frozen embryo transfer uses an embryo created through IVF that has been cryopreserved.
We carefully prepare the uterus and transfer the embryo at precisely the right time. This phase often feels quieter, but it is just as intentional and important.
Sperm Cryopreservation
Sperm freezing allows sperm to be collected and safely preserved for future use.
This may be done before medical treatment, before fertility procedures or as part of proactive planning. Frozen sperm can later be used for IUI or IVF.
Not sure what you need yet?
Unsure? That is completely normal.
You don’t need to decide between IUI, IVF or egg freezing before your first visit.
Start with a conversation. We will review your history, discuss testing and walk through what makes sense medically, emotionally and financially.
